Mountain Majesty is pleased to announce our first annual composer competition called "The Majestic Composer." This is a competition to highlight up and coming composers who have not yet been recognized in a public capacity. The winners of this competition will receive a free recording of the performance of their piece at the Mountain Majesty Honor Band and Honor Choir events in which it is performed. Those who wish to attend may elect to do so, however Mountain Majesty will not be compensating for travel or any other expenses made in order for winners to attend. The honor band and honor choir events will take place in Denver, CO.
The names of the winners will be placed in the performance programs during the honor band/honor choir event in which their piece is performed. Our hope is that with this level of recognition plus a free recording of a live performance of the winning pieces, this will help to boost the publicity and capability to move forward into the musical world for those working as hard as they do as up and coming composers. The basis of this competition is to create exposure for composers who otherwise have not had any for their works in the world of music. We also plan to request a press release in multiple print and online news outlets with the names of the composers selected as winners. All decisions on winners are final, and Mountain Majesty reserves the right not to select a winner if material entered is not deemed acceptable nor suitable for performance.
Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
